Inspired by nature and sunlight, I record it’s effect on flowers. In my (usually large!) oil paintings, I like to concentrate on the delicate qualities of reflected light and to endeavour to capture the extraordinarily subtle variations of colour within the fine translucent petals. By zooming in the flowers take on an abstract quality.
