I am a mosaic artist who works with a variety of materials including beads, traditional millefiore, Swarovski crystals, glitter tiles, gold leaf, diamante, vintage jewellery and hand made embellishments. This combination gives an intense richness to the pieces - each one being unique. To get this detail takes many hours of patient work! My collect work is called ‘The collectables’ and features mosaic decorated butterflies and skull motifs.
I am a graduate of Brighton College of Art and have worked almost exclusively in mosaics over the past 17 years. I have also undertaken numerous commissions and worked on over 15 different mosaic projects in schools with children, parents and teachers. I am also the founder and joint organiser of the ‘Craft Coop’ - a collective of local craftspeople who organise pop-up shops and other promotional events for its members to participate in.
In addition I have written four books on Mosaic art, including the best selling ‘Mosaic Artist’s Bible, which has been published in more than twenty countries.
Teresa also takes part in ‘make and take’ events through the year where you can come along and have a go at making your own mosaic creations on pre-cut wooden shapes. We are delighted that she will be holding a workshop at the Collective Art in Marlow event in December – more details on the events tab and facebook page.
